I have spent considerable time working on a Carter on one of my Super Cs. I could never get it to stop leaking with the fuel on and the engine not running. I finally gave up and just shut the fuel off every time. I think I have a leak somewhere internally, but have never been able to find it. I purchased a Marvel Schebler cast iron carb for it. About 6 years later, I have yet to put it on.
