A few other things you might want to keep in mind when buying your alternator are that a 3 wire will charge at lower RPM. That is pretty nice when you can run your tractor at an idle and it charges. I just went through this with my 9N. You will need a couple things to finish it though. A diode keeps the battery from draining, and you'll need a "GM alternator repair plug" And it is what you'll run your wires from. Try the link here and this is what I made my conversion for my Ford. It should work for a Farmall too.
