At 56 years old, the whole tractor is a potential "weak spot" due to simple wear and tear.
The most common thing to be worn out, aside from tires, is the TA. A good TA will pull in all gears with the brakes applied.
Good mechanical TAs will also hold the tractor from rolling backwards on a hill with the TA lever ahead and the clutch pedal pushed down just enough for the engine to stop driving the tractor. If it rolls, your low side is out.
Brakes often don't work well either. That is a lack of maintenance, not a real weak spot.
