My 1939 Farmall M was changed from the smaller pto shaft to the larger standardized size many years ago. The old shaft is still in the shed. Not sure what other parts were needed to change it over though. I have never found any other old power take off parts tucked away, so I assume the new shaft just fitted straight in. I could, of course, be wrong.
