I have a photo of the spot I believe the tag once was, on the inside of the seat support. I couldn't see it untill I got home and dumped the photos into my computer. It looks like an area that once was covered by a glued on tag. Would someone let me email the photo to comfirm? Do not see anything on the cover underneath the pedals. I found a number on the right hand side of the engine block, underneath the sparkplug closest to the front( no. 1?)... AA..5..673 ...
There are no older members of my family left who are able to remember any exact dates. The story I was told, about 35 years ago, is that it was bought by my grandfather on the "black market"(?). I had a neighbor, now passed away, who was certain it was bought in 47.
