If the TA is good, Use them and use them alot...lack of use seems to kile them more than anything....I have a 1586 with 7500 hrs bought new in 78 and use the TA all the time...just not on the road.
Change the hyd filter spring and fall and no more, also run the diff one gallon over full. Good luck with it, they are a beast!
