Most have starter openings but I have a B that doesn't. It may have no electric: generator, lights, etc., with a magneto.

However, if you keep it in good shape, it will start with one, two, or three quarter turns at most.

I like to crank an A I have for visitors. I pull the ignition switch, set the choke, and tell them I'll try to start it. When I grab the crank they always groan.

I insert the crank and pull up 1/4 turn slowly. The second slow pull it usually starts. Always on the third. No windmilling, which is dangerous.

It is much more fun than having one not tuned up, with electric start.
