Stick a standard 2 ton floor jack under the side of the U bar on which side you want to slide in first and lift it up.Just jack it up enought to clear a "pick bar" under the tire.(LONG bar,6 ' works good.)With the clamps REALLY loose(what you are calling"pillow blocks") stick your bar under the bottom edge and pick up on it.Just keep "edging" them in in small increments.They SHOULD move right in.It helps me to mark the axle with a "sharpie marker"cause I usually pass up the place I wanna be on accident.:)
Oh yea,be sure and chock opposite side so she dont roll off.(ANd I will assume you are doing this on a LEVEL surface.Just sayin.)
