The 86 series cab is twice the cab the 66 series had. The smaller 86 series (8, 9, 10,) tractors in good shape also bring a premium - especially the 886. To keep the "nice" things about an 86 series working (AC/Seat/stereo etc..) plan on spending some money. The newest ones are now 30 years old and have been through a lot.
An open station 66 series can be purchased very cheap (compared to an "equal" cabbed 86 series) while getting a rock solid tractor. As mentioned above they are easier to work on and if you don't need the cab it would be the way to go.
