Power Steering not working:
Hi, does the hitch work when the steering does not work? Maybe the oil strainer is full of dirt or ice. I've seen trouble like that once, the steering turns on one side, then don't on the other. When you turn the sterring on both sides, it has a small play to pull or push the cylinder valve. The end of the valve( thread end) has tendancy to wear and not open all the way. Put some drop of weld on the thead end and the trouble is fixed.
There is a priority valve to allow 3 gpm to the steering system. Below the hydraulic filter, there is a thick plug, the valve is in that hole. Remove the plug, remove the spring and maybe the valve is stuck all the way up or down. With a fine emery cloth, remove all scratches on the spool until it moves freely in the hole.
Fix for MCV Power Steering flow divider: there is a parts kit to replace the flow divider valve, in the MCV. It's a sleeve with a spool in it. It will fix your steering problem. Check with a CASE-IH dealer.
