Jeff, is the left front hub of the tractor still on the ground? Maybe the carb is acting goofy if its leaning, the float could be stuck or the gas is tilted too much in the bowl. I wouldnt think the timing jumped just because the wheel fell off and the hub hit the ground.

Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
