I should have said that when I had the head off I lapped the valves and they all looked good except one that was very slightly pitted. I have a 100 and I am able to test it at around 90 lbs so I know my guage is reletively close. It just seems like if it is rings that have not seated that oild would bring the compression up which it does not seem to. I am also thinking that .017 cold might be a little loose but good enough to start it. I will let you guys know how it goes unless anyone has anything else worth checking while I have it apart.
