Wardner, I run single batteries in everything except my Cat loader and its starter is 24 volt or it would also have a single battery. Parallel battery setups have their faults. The main one being that the voltage regulator senses the condition of the better battery and regulates accordingly. This leaves one battery never being charged to peak condition. Quality 6 volt batteries in series do give high amps at 12 volts but you have the problem of post and cable maintenance. Just buy single high amp 12 volt batteries and keep on keeping on.
