If I understand your response correctly, it seems that you are in agreement with me. All one has to do is look at a battery tester. They are built with a large resister and a voltmeter. Higher volts under load indicates a better battery. And why is it that a rheostat (a variable transformer) can control the speed of a DC motor? It is because of the volts.
