I would defiinitely want something in between the PTO on My Super M and any "heavy duty"PTO driven implement such as you are talking about!(I have heard that even grain augers were very hard on these PTOs.)
I would hate to have that chipper "jamb up",It could be catasrophic!
How about a "slipper clutch" set up like is on my Bush Hog brand cutter???It has adjustable tension on the disc.
