Wauk produced a little BD 4cyl engine that's listed in Wauk lists as 31/4x4=133cid, same as a Wauk FC. I have two notes re' the BD: (1) a Wauk BD1J was in a McC-Drg #22 thresher (from some forum post I neglected to note); (2) a "Farmall Engine Valve Repair Guide" that referred to a Wauk BDA-1 XA engine was on EBay on 3-30-11 (that might've been meant to say BDA-1 AND XA, as Wauk XA's were used in some IH combines). Under Wauk usage at the time BD would ordinarily be the basic engine, and "1J" would be works code for accessories (ign, carb etc) variations. BDA would be an actual BD variation of some kind. Does anyone here have an IH ref book that shows: (1)whether the BD was used in Farmall tractors?? (some Wauk FLs and FCs apparently were); and (2) if the "Farmall" name was applied to equipment (threshers, combines) as well as to tractors?? Engine lists in my old parts catalogs list a "BD1" engine in the IH lists and a "BD" in the Wauk engine list, but entries are confused as to 3x4 and 31/4x4 (the same bearings and specs but bores not matching)!! This "BD" is probably NOT the later IH BD144 33/8x4 or BD154 31/2x4 Any comments appreciated!! Many thxx!! Bud

George bought his Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00. There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken by Harold alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that the major was produced late 19
