Have a 664 with D-239 engine. Would like to add a block/coolant heater for these cold morning starts.
A D-239 is not a glow plug engine and it can be hateful to start as the temps. fall. Thinking of trying a lower radiator hose heater. Would this be a good choice or is there a better solution short of a heated building.
Also, with this being a 12 volt conversions should I be able to go back to one good large capacity cranking battery? The cables also need a good going over for corrosion and bad connections.
Currently,the former owner had 2 all but dead 12v batteries in parallel.Without glow plus only draw is the starter. Would a single battery be adequate?
