You need to determine if leak is in cyl or check valve. With hitch raised, load on it, engine shut off, see if the hose on rod end of cyl(which is not supporting the load) has pressure in it, if it does your cyl is leaking. May require unhooking hoses to determine. If oil comes out of that hose, cyl leak. If oil actually lowers in hose, check valve is leaking. Just be sure you check correct hose as of course the one to lower end of cyl will have pressure.
