It would be a good idea to do what "p" recommends. Here's another thing. Early Cubs had a oil filter cover made of white metal. These had a tendency of loosening up after an oil change. The result was that the oil pressure would drop. Re-tightening would do the trick (never over tighten). Later Cubs had a cast steel cover and many older Cubs were converted. The white metal covers were smooth and the cast steel had a ridge around the perimeter. An old IH service man told me about this years ago; the '48 Cub I grew up with had the white metal and was prone to loosing oil pressure (I always carried the right wrench). Good luck.
