The Heisler 9 Speed increases ground speed in 1st thru 4th gears by about 40%. It also increases PTO speed and belly pump RPM by the same percent when engaged. It however does not affect 5th gear. Hence the "9 speed" designation.
The Heisler is not a true predecessor to the Torque Amplifier. A T/A DECREASES travel speed when engaged. Also a T/A can be shifted while under load. The Heisler however can only be shifted in/out while the tractor is stopped.
