I just replaced the hydraulic pump in my 340. It is the 12 gpm tranny driven type. The tractor has power steering and there has been a leak at the expansion plug at the base. It wasn"t too bad with the old pump, but got much worse with the new pump. The plug look like it had come partially out, so I gently persuaded it back into place. I was running the tractor over the weekend and it was running great and there no leakage at the plug, only some minor leakage at the hydraulic control block/valves. I was pretty happy and figured I could live with that. Then, I noticed some major leakage coming from the power steering. It looks like it is coming from the top of the column at the steering wheel. I am assuming that it is the top seal. I am concerned that there is too much flow to the steering unit. Any thoughts.
