I have two (2)Sc's that do not have oil lubed fan bearings. Each are sealed. Some SC's were, some weren't. I would imagine that Farmall found that 99% of the owners didn't provide any more maintenance to the oil lubed units than they did for other items of the tractor, so they went to sealed units. For example; did you ever know one original owner that changed the oil in the front steering gear assembly? I believe nearly ever SC still running still has the original oil, if any oil, and has a plugged vent for that assembly as most owners don't even know there is a vent located there that must be maintained open.
