For the same Pressure plate force, the Metalic/Ceramic Puck type Driven disk will transfer more power. This is due to the coeficient of friction of the material, and the increased pressure per square area of material (less surface area than organic full disk results in the same PP pressure being concentrated on smaller areas) The hardness of the material wears the contact surfaces far more than the organic composition materials, resulting in replacement of PP and deep machining of the Flywheels when replacing the "disk". They are used for tractors subject to repeated forward and back use under load, high horsepower tractors, and pro level pulling teractors. Jim
