I had removed the belly pump, clutch and short shaft between the clutch and front transmission coupler of a 47 M so I could replace bearings and seals on the transmission countershaft and upper shaft.
I see the flywheel surface has small cracks and it appears the rear crankshaft seal is leaking. As I understand, the tractor will need to be split to remove flywheel for machining and also to fix the seal -- Is that correct?
It may be a while before splitting, so I am considering putting the clutch, drive shaft and belly pump back in the tractor now. Assume I would put in a new throw out bearing now.
Can you split the tractor and get it back together with the belly pump installed? Or do you guys remove the pump for better access? Thanks.
