The grass deflector and sole has been welded several times. Gramps welded a piece of steel to the sole years ago already. It broke off closer to the back end near the curve hard to place a steel plate there.

I sent an e-mail off to IH dealer I may call yet since I have not heard back from them.

I did find rouse site that make their own mowers. Their inner soul is shorter so the grass rods for my IH 1100 do not work but it is only $100 and they have grass deflector made of 2 rods and parts for $50 and it fits on the end. I may go this route.
