Early heads had small valves ,but can be changed to larger by machine shop ,I have done it.
Early blocks have light press sleeves (flange type ),later ones have heavy press ( no flange, but have flare at top ) worst idea IH had. It can be converted to early style by honing .001 out of the block and machining a counterbore in the block . have done several.Blocks and heads all interchange.
