Loose fan belt? Dragging bearing on fan or gen? My brother's 9N Ford has a 30 amp gen---don't know about the Ferguson. I'd look at each light/wire going to it with an ohm meter to see if one of the sockets or wires is shorting to ground---touching ground to create an extra load--but not enough to blow a fuse.
