Hmmmm. A stalling problem like that is classically related to a coil and/or condenser. But, you seem to think that fuel is part of the problem. If it is, then I think a stuck float could be part of the problem. The float tang may not be set right, causing some fuel to enter the carburetor, but not enough to run the engine under load very long. Again, I would check the coil and condenser before I go into the carburetor.
