Early 154s had the PTO pulleys on the drive shaft, later on the flywheel. Either one you remove the drive shaft.
I believe both versions will require unmounting the drive clutch pressure plate from the transmission flywheel and removing the clutch linkage mount.
For models with the pulleys on the flywheel-- As I recall, if you are lucky, you loosen the the drive coupler at the front of the drive shaft and slide the drive shaft forward into the coupler far enough to remove the coupler and drive shaft as a unit. Other options would be move the engine forward or the transaxle rearward.
For models with the pulleys on the drive shaft-- It may require unmounting the front drive shaft bearing.
It's one of those things that you have to figure out as you go, but remember no big hammers. Just patience and ingenuity.
