I have a '47 A that has a weird governor control problem.
With the two springs in their correct locations (long in the back and short in the front) the control stops about 3 or 4 notches from the end and conversely doesn't go to WOT until you pass the notches on the other side.
If I flip the springs around (sort back long front) everything seems to line up correctly.
Now the book and my other two small Farmalls (A and a BN) show it should be long in the back and short in the front.
I've looked everything over real well and can't for the life of me figure out why this A is different. Nothing seems bent or out of place.
I'm not sure if there's any problem running the springs opposite of they way they were intended but it seems to work OK.
Just a curious problem, wondered if anyone had any insight.
