Try spraying WD-40 on the generator contacts. I did this on my C and it has helped drastically. I used to have to clean the contacts daily due to build up. It also keeps the moisture out. This tractor sounds like it would be on the high end of the price range scale listed before. I would say $1500 to $1800 if all the sheetmetal is straight and not cut up. The most beat up item is the grill shell.
