It was an optional attachment.
Tachometer $60-$150 (used or nice repro) Cable $15-$35 (new or used) Distributer Tach adaptor $25-$100 (geared drive cartridge or complete cast iron distributer drive with cartridge)
All this stuff will pop up on eBay. Check CaseIH on-line parts book to see the parts. The tach will be specific for the F300-F350 due to the dial face. The other parts can be found on other contemporary IH tractors. Tach cable lengths will vary but I have a 140 cable (I believe) on a W-400. Just barely makes it.
