Follow up on M rear oil Leak

I posted a message weeks ago about a bad oil leak of the back of the engine on my dad's '49 M. We had gone through the whole thing, engine and trans, put it all back together to find almost a steady stream of oil coming down the back of the engine.

We split it in half, and it looked like it was the plug on the back of the cam. Replaced it and gooped it real good. Reassembled, and still leaked. Split it again last weekend, and noticed a pipe threaded hole that was open. Looked on the side of the block where the fitting is for the oil press. gauge, and was pretty obvious from there. Put a plug in, now it's a new tractor. As funny as it may sound about not putting in the plug, it's pretty easy to overlook it. Just a thought for anyone thinking about such a project.
