There is no wheel spacing number because it makes little difference. If you are on hills or ditch banks, setting it as wide as possible is best. If you have a small shed, and flat ground closer is no issue. Setting the tires so that the overlap on passes allows one front wheel to run in cut grass works well to keep nice straight path of cut.
