I HAVE A 1931 FARMALL REGULAR THAT HAS A METAL FLOAT. I HAVE PUT A NEW NEEDLE AND SEAT IN BUT IT STILL FLOODS TERRIBLY. I PARTIALLY DISASSEMBLED THE CARB, PUT A RUBBER PLUG IN THE BOTTOM SO THE GAS COULD NOT GET OUT OF THE BOWL THEN REATTACHED IT TO THE GAS LINE. WITH THE BOWL FULL OF GAS THE FLOAT WILL NOT COME OFF THE BOTTOM AND CUT OFF THE GAS. HOWEVER YOU CAN FILL THE BOWL WITH WATER AND THE FLOAT WORKS PERFECT. I KNOW THAT WATER IS MORE DENSE THAN GAS BUT DOES ANYONE KNOW OF AN ADDATIVE I CAN PUT IN THE GAS TO INCREASE THE DENSITY? ALSO THE FLOAT DOES NOT HAVE A HOLE IN IT. YOU CAN LEAVE IT SETTING IN THE WATER FOR HOURS AND IT DOES NOT SINK.
