Connect your voltmeter to the ignition side of the coil and to a good ground. 1..With the switch on crank the engine and record the voltage. 2..record the voltage with the switch on and the points open. 3..record the voltage with the switch on and the points closed...4...Move the probe to the distributor side of the coil (not the high tension terminal) and with the ignition switch on and the points closed take a reading. Post what your meter measures at each point and I will come back on to help you trouble shoot your problem.
