On the Rice Field Special tractors (WR9, WDR9, Super WDR9, and WR9S) the foot decellerator was used primarly to cross the numerous levees in the rice field. The operator would often be standing, though some preferred to remain seated, and at each levee crossing he would depress the decellerator to slow the tractor, then, as soon as he was across the levee, he would let up on the decellerator and the tractor would resume its normal preset speed.
