James if the points look burned or pitted, I would replace them and the condensor. Point gap is .020. Before you install the rotor and cap, turn on the coil switch and crank the engine and make sure you are getting a spark at the points. If your rotor shaft has any play in it, you might have to set the points a tad tighter at .017 or so. Also inspect the rotor and the distributor cap while your at it. Post your findings and good luck!
