ok here goes....first determine which direction the distributor rotor rotates. then loosen the bolts that hold the distributor and turn it in the same direction to advance. keep in mind that too much will cause backfires and/or dieseling after cutoff. try moving in VERY small increments 1/8 inch rotation is a big adjustment so try an 8th inch and see how she runs if she diesels (after cut off when hot)you have gone too far. the 8th inch will probably do it but you can experiment until she feels right under a load. BEFORE YOU MOVE ANYTHING MARK WHERE YOU STARTED EXACTLY so you can always go back to where you started. this takes time but you will learn how to "feel" this with a little experience and no tools or special knowledge is needed. good luck and please post a follow up.
