Please tell me if I"m doing this right. (gas engine)I checked the compression and all cylinders read the same 130psi. I set the points to (.020). Spark plugs are at(.023). Carb is generally 1 1/4 turn at top and 3 turns at bottom. Oh yeh, and I adjusted all the valves at (0.017). I"m trying to set the timing at a low idle and the timing marks are jumping around and not steady enough to make it easy for me to visually pin point where the mark should set. I"m thinking I hear a slight steady puff at every firing revolution. Now could I have a bad valve or are my settings off? My vacume guage is not perfectly steady but not all over the place.
