Thanks, Rusty! The idea of threaded inserts hadn"t even occurred to me! I was araid they were soldered directly to the tank, and that if I twisted one off, I would wreck the tank! I feel a lot better now. Thanks also for clarifying the baffle. I was holding off on dumping rocks in there for that very reason. I will just get some muriatic acid and rinse it out with that. It"s not in real bad shape, so I"m sure that will do it. THanks again for your help!
