My memory needs refreshed on this, what I remember now is a serial # cut off on the F560 rear housings. First type used the same main shaft rear bearing retainer as a 400 ETC. Other type used 4 bolt retainer with a different transmission housing. Same main shaft works in both. Roller or ball bearing works in both retainers. F560 were equiped with a choice of 2 speeds for 1,3,4. Standard 1 is more gear reduction than a 400. 560 high speed 1&R is the same as standard 400. 560 3&4 standard is less gear reduction than a 400. Heavy tilage gears in a F560 are the same as standard 400 gears. Depending on tire size using 1450 RPM, speeds from around 1 MPH to near 8 MPH from gears 1 through 4 are posible. Just the F560 R&P slows a 400 down a bunch. At stock RPM 4th will be around a regular M speed. Top speed will be down. If backing a distance reverse speed reduction may be a problem. If 1st gear ratios are switched the reverse idler needs switched to match also.

In this segment we will finish up on our fasteners and then work with ways to keep them from loosening up in the field. Capscrews, bolts and nuts are not the only means of holding two parts together. When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and
