so, if you will be working by yourself, and don't have a hoist or loader, I would just change the rims. If you have help, and/or a hoist or loader, take the whole thing off.
I do know that I abused my body as a young man doing things that weren't all that smart.......I am paying for it now with more aches and pains than I can shake a stick at.
