I tryed a timing light on my M and it didnt work it wouldnt run right some others tryed with out sucess I finley had to lossen the destributer and time it by sound this worked. I dont know what was wrong with mine or why it didnt work it never was rebulit but if you cant get it with the light you might have to try it. turn it back and foward till you hear the sweet spot where it sounds the smothest and tighten it dowen it may not sound proper but some times we have to do what we have to
