The Pertronex is well worth the money....I asked the same question in the tractor pulling forum.
I put one in a C, and it improved idiling 50% you can slow it down to a chug chug chug...about 250RPM!
The real test came yesterday. after this snowstorm. the farmall c with the Pertronex unit started Immediately and easily. the super c and b with conventional points, took some work to start,
The "purists" should have no objection with this unit either. the distributor does not have to be modified in any way to install the Pertronex, and can be easily returned to stock.
