Distributors are like switches. They are not voltage sensitive at all. 6volt distributors just came off of a 6volt tractor, but the same distributor could have been found on a 12 volt tractor. Unless the voltage was in the range that would break down the insulation, or jump the point gap, they work. Do be concerned with the centrifugal advance. A distributor from a cub will fit on a M, but the advance limits, and advance curve will be different. This includes springs and the mechanical stop on the max advance. Jim
