The Red is right about the firing order, but on the cub the firing order is stamped on the left side of the engine as you sit in the seat...dunno why cause the distributor is on the other side. Just look under the dirt and grease. A humorous anecdote about firing order...My Cub didn't run when I bought it and I didn't know beans from cracked corn about tractors. I rebuilt the carb, half the ignition system and it still wouldn't run. Found 3 stuck valves and got them loosened up so I had gas, compression and fire. It still would start really hard, kick back through the starter (ouch) and once running it sounded like a John Deere. Come to find out that the previous owner had taken the firing order as being the same as the cylinder order and wired it to fire 1-2-3-4...as near as I can tell it was only hitting on #1. But darned it it didn't run that way (sorta)... They do run better if the firing order is correct.
