Wardner nailed it! What it boils down to is that the Cub's PTO turns backward from the rest of the world's PTOs. To use that Kubota deck the direction of rotation has to be reversed somehow. This will get real expensive in a hurry!
I would recommend finding a belly mower that was originally made to work on a Cub. It'll be far more cost effective and work better than almost anything you can put together yourself and probably cost less in the long run.
