The caps are not new. The design is 30 years old, and tens of thousands of them have been distributed through IH's (now Navistar's) gas cap replacement program. Not to mention the thousands people bought off the shelf at the dealer.
We've had them on all our IH gas tractors since the recall began in 1980. Got several more when this tractor collecting thing got out of hand... They fit fine.
It's quite impressive that IH used the same fuel filler neck design from 1939 up through 1979 on some tractors.
