You might want to take the wheel off, for starters. The axle housing itself weighs probably a hundred pounds or so, one man can lift it, anyway. Before you can take the axle housing off, however, you will have to unbolt the bull gear through the PTO hole, which will require some patience. Remember to drain the rear end before you take the PTO out. If you don't want to unbolt it through the PTO hole, you'll have to remove the transmission cover, which is a project in itself. After the bull gear is unbolted, you SHOULD be able to slide the axle housing out and replace the gasket.
